Easy Ice Cream Cake

1 gallon ice cream  

1 large tub cool whip

1 pkg Oreos

 Soften ice cream and add cool whip.  Put in 8 1/2 x 11 pan. I have used vanilla, mint chocolate chip and regular chocolate chip ice cream. Add broken up oreo cookies to mixture. ( I do not crush oreos, I break them in 3 to 4 pieces)  Freeze for several hours. You can use different ice creams and toppings for this recipe.
